About Me

Yesterday was history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a GIFT🎁 that is why we call it the Present

Hello World!

My name is Myrna Kennedy.

I am very excited and honoured to be a part of the 2021 cohort Master Program at ANU School of Cybernetics. Together with multidisciplinary and highly talented people, creating a world-first branch of engineering around AI’s future. Hopefully, my diverse background and experiences can help shape our future generation and positively influence AI from humans perspective in our everyday lives. I’m motivated to ensure that our future generation can live in a sustainable environment and have balanced wellbeing through responsible and ethical Cyber-Physical Systems that we develop using advanced AI technologies.

I have a Pharmacy background, graduated from Institute Technology Bandung (ITB) – Indonesia, but I never had a chance to practice because I moved to Australia to follow and support my mother. Unfortunately, I could not use my Pharmacy qualification in Australia due to the different rules and regulations compared to Indonesia, which mainly based on the American system.

Somehow, without any banking or finance background, I was lucky  enough to work in one of the big four banks in Australia for the past 13 years. I started as a Client Service Representative to the recent role as a Decision Analyst before studying this Master of Applied Cybernetics program. I was very fortunate to have so many opportunities to learn on the job from my peers, stakeholders and improve my ability to adapt quickly and work in multiple departments across the bank. I worked with many inspirational great leaders within the Financial Services, Risk Management, Institutional Banking and Markets, Group Corporate Affairs, Enterprise Services and recently Retail Banking Services area. Because of all this, I am motivated to be a better version of myself, to contribute and give back more where I can to help others.

After being married and having two beautiful children, I decided to study again (part-time) in 2017 while working full-time and being a full-time mum who often becomes a personal Uber driver for my two children. I finally graduated this year, after four long years with a Master of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) – specialisation in Business Analytics. I wouldn’t have completed this study without help from my family and friends. Thank you for all the unconditional love and endless supports all these years.

My life road map has been pretty much like a roller coaster journey, which I think represented perfectly and similar to the pulse in the 3Ai logo, a combination of a Wi-Fi signal with a human ECG signal aiming to keep humanity in technology. So I knew that I’m taking the right path when I decided to apply for the Master of Applied Cybernetics program at the 3Ai ANU School of Cybernetics 2021 cohort. And this personal website is created especially to document my cybernetics road journey this year.

Education is such a powerful thing, and with the Cybernetics approach as part of the New Branch of Engineering to scale the future AI responsibly, sustainably and safely. I want to inspire my children and other people to have a growth mindset and pursue education in life for a better future.

Learning is a lifelong journey, and Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.”
